About
A Life Shaped by High Stakes—and Great Stories
MEET RANDY Randy Brawley served as an Air Force combat pilot, war planner, and Pentagon strategist before joining FEMA. Today, his emergency management consulting work focuses on helping Tribal Nations prepare for their worst days and protect what matters most. WHY HE WRITES Randy believes a great film begins with a great story and unforgettable characters. He loves flawed people seeking redemption, snappy banter worthy of Bogart and Bacall or Tracy and Hepburn, and believable love stories that raise the emotional stakes. He brings that perspective to psychological thrillers, speculative stories, and emotionally grounded romances about people facing impossible choices.
BEHIND THE STORIES Randy’s stories are personal—even when they enter strange or frightening worlds. Death in the Quantum was inspired in part by the untimely death of a friend who turned away from Western medical care. Its supernatural premise grew from deeply human questions about grief, belief, manipulation, and the danger of surrendering our judgment to someone claiming to possess the truth.
Hungry Heart O’ Mine draws from the real-life love story of Randy and his wife, singer-songwriter Cristal. A Lamp for Christmas explores two wounded people who discover that love and purpose can arrive after life has taken an unexpected turn.
Whether writing horror, science fiction, or romance, Randy returns to the same essential elements: a compelling story, memorable characters, sharp dialogue, believable love, and the possibility of redemption. He wants audiences to feel the stakes, question what they believe, and leave the story carrying something they did not expect.
